Knowing What Not to Do
Life is short. Incredibly short.
We all have goals. For ourselves, our partners, our families, our friends. And the only way to make those dreams a reality?
By crushing it in life.
You know the drill. Work hard. Be where the action is. Surround yourself with people you admire, people you want to be like.
But here's the thing: knowing what to do? That's only half the battle. Knowing what not to do? That's just as important. Maybe even more so.
So, how do you figure out what not to do? There are two ways:
Go all in. Move fast, break things. Learn from your own mistakes.
Learn from others' mistakes. Avoid the pitfalls they've already experienced.
Now, I know what you're thinking. The first option? Exciting, forward-looking, adventurous. The second? A bit dull, like the approach of a 60-year-old.
But here's the truth: there's a time and a place for both.
If you're living paycheck to paycheck? If failure means you won't have money for groceries next month? Option two is the way to go. It's the more realistic, conservative approach. Because when you have a lot to lose when your life depends on it, you can't afford to take big risks.
But if most things in your life are set? If you have a good income, an emergency fund, investments ticking away in the background? That's when option one comes into play. It's the more daring, more fun approach. Because when you don't have a lot to lose, you can afford to take some chances.
Life is all about knowing when to take risks and when to play it safe. About learning from your own mistakes and the mistakes of others.
It's about finding that sweet spot. And crushing it.
