People on Twitter

People on Twitter. They don't appreciate actionable advice. They don't value the small, daily steps they can take to reach their goals.

Why? Because that takes effort.

So, what do people on Twitter appreciate? 2 things:

  1. Jokes. We all know why we love a good joke. They make us laugh, make us happy. There's no better feeling than that.

  2. Big, empty ideas that don't help anyone.

Those big ideas? People eat them up. They feel good about themselves for reading them. Because they saw Sam Altman say "be delusional," or Paul Graham say "how to do great work."

It's a quick hit of dopamine. And they don't have to lift a finger.

They'll hit that like button. They'll retweet it for all to see. Because they want everyone to know they're on board with these big thinkers.

But suggest that being delusional is useless without daily action? That big thoughts are nothing without big actions?

Silence. Because that takes effort.

It's much easier to just like a tweet. To feel good about yourself for a moment.

But you know, I know, in the end, it's not about the likes. It's not about the retweets.

It's about doing the work. It's about turning those big ideas into reality.

Not just by thinking big. But by doing big.
