Why You're Always Sleepy
"I always feel sleepy." I've heard this from someone almost every day for the past 270 days.
Why 270 days? That's when I started meeting people in person after working remotely all my life.
There could be two reasons for feeling sleepy all the time.
The first is simple: maybe you're not sleeping enough or you have low vitamin B12 levels. In other words, it's a health issue. The good news? That's an easy fix.
Just go to a doctor, get a prescription, do some tests, take supplements, and get enough sleep. Problem solved.
But the second reason - and the more likely one - is a bit more complicated:
You're probably doing something you don't like, around people who aren't inspiring or doing things they don't like, all to impress someone who doesn't care.
Don't worry, you're not the only one. Even I feel sleepy when work is boring and I'm not learning anything new. But for me, that doesn't happen often.
So, what's the real solution to feeling more awake and productive?
It's not a magic supplement. It's simple: do something you really care about.
Be completely dedicated to it. Feel a sense of ownership and pride in your work.
Because when you're really passionate about what you're doing, feeling sleepy takes a back seat.
So, the next time you struggle to stay awake in the middle of the day, ask yourself: am I doing something that really matters to me? If the answer is no, it might be time for a change.
Life's too short to spend it feeling sleepy all the time.
